Just the Beginning!

Blog by Jamie Lundy - CEO 7L System

“Following a major dental operation and a busy week at work, I was really looking forward to watching our creative team at the weekend bring the brands vision a little closer to reality. As winter comes and the weather in the North starting to turn (excuse the GOT reference) the team each grabbed a 7L Down Jacket and headed up the mountain to location. Although a little chilly, the weather was very good to us all day, with the direct sunlight, hidden by the blanket of clouds. This though gave Dean and Chris, our photographer and videographer, the perfect lighting and backdrop to capture some great images and footage without blowing the highlights or changing camera settings every 2 minutes because of light changes. The team worked very hard and the model Jean from Milk Model Management a complete dream to work with.

As I stood and watched them work their magic, I knew there was great things to come. This is just the beginning”

FINAL SHOTS AND EDITS WILL BE RELEASED OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS AND WILL BE AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD AS A COMPLETE LOOKBOOK.

This TREK SYSTEM 411-L5 soft shell parka is an ALL YEAR ROUND garment that has been designed with Schoeller®-wb-400. Two textile surfaces are bonded together, with the middle coating maintaining protection from wind and water, whilst the soft fleece interior ensures a comfort, wear-after-wear. This soft shell jacket contains hidden magnetic buttons in the centre front placket, enabling you to fasten and unfasten with ease even when wearing gloves. The double-ended reverse coil, centre front YKK zip enables you to open up the hem when seated, without removing the jacket. Textured drawcords are finished with matte coated cord ends and pullers, to increase surface friction, giving you better grip to adjust the hood and hem when harsh weather strikes. 7L and TECHUNTER - THE BORDERLANDS™

THE BORDERLANDS™

As the world starts to seriously sit up and take note (and action) in the need for a sustainable planet, it was a privilege and very refreshing to be invited to attend a collaborative project by OutDoor by ISPO, ISPO and Vanish™ called THE BORDERLANDS™.

_MG_2436_1.jpg

The main concept of THE BORDERLANDS exhibition, organized under the new partnership of VANISH and ISPO, was the motif of "Nature - Future - Culture" : blurring the boundaries between seemingly unrelated concepts. Modern outdoor-industry needs a new round of development, expansion of consciousness, the inclusion of imagination and new vision.

Primarily, the exhibition displayed CGI artists’ work and their aesthetics of the original cyberpunk sub-genre of Science Fiction, featuring technological and scientific advancements and to explore the future of the outdoor industry.

In addition to the artistic component of the composition in the form of art and graphically decorated walls, brands were invited to participate, the concept of which demonstrates modern progressive and functional clothing, as well as science fiction inspiration. Thus, in one space combing different brands under one motif : "Nature - Future - Culture"

7 LAYER SYSTEM - R&D PROJECTS

Now with 7L’s additional investment and management team the new 7L R&D department are about to start working with Scientists at Manchester University. The project is designed to help develop future fabrics and garments that ensure a sustainable and ethical future in the fashion and outerwear industries.
