Description

Based on high-quality polyamide fabric our 411 Layer 5 parka is designed for warmth, comfort and freedom of movement in cool and windy conditions. This technical soft shell parka is perfect for the outdoor environment such as Skiing, Snowboarding, Mountaineering, Hiking, Walking, Mountain Biking, BMX, Leisure, Casual Wear, Fashion.

The Layer 5 Soft Shell Parka is made using Schoeller®-wb-400, all in one soft-shell fabric. Schoeller®-wb-400 is the soft-shell classic for year-round use. Two textile surfaces are bonded with a highly breathable coating in a special process. The coating in the middle ensures additional protection from wind and water; which produces soft-shell fabrics for the most varied of requirements and for every season. Basic properties include perfect weather protection, wind and water resistant, good breathability, highly elastic, cosy and comfortable inside.

This bluesign® approved fabric designates textiles that were produced in compliance with especially high environmental standards. It guarantees maximum freedom from harmful substances, highest quality and functionality. The label is a sign that follows the most stringent EHS-criteria (consumer safety, water emission, air emission, occupational health and safety, resource productivity) worldwide. The bluesign® standard takes a different approach, instead of analysing final products, it starts at the beginning of the manufacturing chain, at the inputs. All input streams are assessed. They receive a rating based on their ecotoxicological profile (Input Stream Management). Bluesign® stands for textiles low on harmful substances, an environmentally-friendly production and a cautious use of resources.

Through active temperature equalization and dynamic climate control, Schoeller®-PCM™ (Phase Change Materials) creates an individual comfort climate. Even with extreme temperature fluctuations, it is neither too cold nor too warm and the body’s own performance capacity is retained. Schoeller®-PCM™ actively balance out temperature extremes. Schoeller®-PCM™is a collective term for materials which are capable of changing their state of matter within a certain temperature range, from solid to liquid and from liquid to solid (this is known as phase change). To physicall incorporate phase change materials in textiles, they are enclosed in a protective wrapping, known as a microcapsule with a diameter of just a few microns. This is to prevent leakage during the liquid phase and to ensure that the garment can stand the effects of washing, cleaning and the weather. The Phase Change Material in the microcapsules has been set to a particular temperature range. If the body temperature or the outside temperature rises, the excess warmth is stored. When the body's temperature drops, the previously-stored warmth is released again. In other words: Schoeller®-PCM™ balances out temperature extremes.
